In other classes you have the teacher guiding you along telling you what to learn or how to learn it, but in this program you kind of go your own path and you do your own learning.
Description:
ECE introduces students to the world of e-commerce while developing academic skills, creative-thinking processes, and problem-solving skills through the completion of a comprehensive e-commerce business project. The course is divided by semesters into two related project development sequences: individual and team. Each student works individually in the first semester to study e-commerce entrepreneurship and develop a solo e-business for which they produce a business plan and website, and deliver a brief elevator pitch. Though some students complete these by the end of the first semester, every student is REQUIRED to complete all three work products before the end of the academic year.
The work featured here was presented by the student entrepreneur at the culminating experiential learning event held at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT on December 17 before an audience of their peers. The student's web site and accompanying elevator pitch were selected by popular vote as a top four finalist in the day's competition.
