Sustainable Product Design

Overview
What roles do form and function play in the development of consumer products? How can designers use rapid prototyping technology to test ideas and visualize product designs? A product designer combines art, science, and commerce to produce useable objects for businesses and consumers. Rapid prototyping transforms ideas and designs into 3D physical objects. Students act as members of a design team and use a variety of software and computer technologies to create products that solve problems and meet consumer needs in a sustainable fashion.
