Earth and Energy Science Essentials (E3)
Overview

How can understanding earth and energy sciences help move us toward an earth system with a sustainable future? How can science and technology affect the quality of our lives in the 21st century? What are the relationships among media, science, and technology? E3 is a 9th grade science course grounded in science fundamentals and aligned to the CT Science Standards. Course content is embedded in authentic projects focusing on real-life, cutting-edge problems. Students participate in creative thinking and design activities with digital media that focus on emerging topics in science and technology as they complete projects for inclusion in their ePortfolios. Assessment and exhibitions include the integration of the skills being taught concurrently in Digital Media Communications.
200910 Challenge
In conjunction with Digital Media Communications, students will develop a Web site and produce a documentary film that address a global green challenge and will show the film to a targeted audience, i.e., an environmental or community organization.
